….among a few other sweet experiences and inspirations. And its only March 17th. I hope you are following along with the chatter on social media as the spring air lights us all up!
The “aha” message of the month is, “Sometimes you lead and sometimes you follow.” The magic of March found me following a number of youthful beings and that will help me keep my balance going forward. As when you follow another’s lead, it may allow you to find a new space and beginning for the creation of something different for yourself. Kinda seems appropriate for the new birth of spring and what magic of March generally means for most of us.
“Sometimes you lead and sometimes you follow.”
With the freedom of openness, I followed a #20SomethingNiece thru the city with NYC 1/2 Marathon, a friend to her Comedy Club debut, followed my #Almost30 niece to a Wine & Paint party, and followed the lead of another niece in Thai Yoga Massage and all before the “Ides of March.”
As a teacher, I have been participating, as have many/most of the teachers and students of Pilates across the globe in appreciating the inspiration and collective experience of Benjamin Degenhardt’s brainy creation of #MarchMatness that has taken hold this year. The participation of so many teachers and students worldwide this year is rather exhilerating, and really nice to experience simply being “a piece of a larger puzzle” sharing, giving and feeling the power that #PilatesMakesYouMove each day. Not only did I choose to “follow” along as an active participant, but I started an Instagram account as a result of the magic of March and the #MM2015 experience. Delighted at finding a few new “teacher friends” in the process.
I also unlocked myself from the tradition of my Canon G7 (frankly the darn thing just up and died on me!) But I found the joy and magic of being free to share via my #androidPhone along with a few cool digital apps – again following the recommendations of my #CrazyCool younger brother, @MrJay22_cn and iPhone photographer Extraordinaire.
Gladly followed his lead to the #DharmaYogaWheel which along with the sensitive healing touches of my physical therapists Noelle, Jaime and Kerry is going to do wonders on healing my neck and shoulder.
I’d be remiss to not mention that I am trying hard to follow Master Teacher, Brett Howard, in private session training as he is twisting all my habits into new angles, turns and curves. Translation: “I am getting my butt kicked.”
March brings spring and new beginnings and I am planning to honor the opportunity to “follow” just a little while longer. Feels good to let go and let somebody else guide me.
