Ran 6 miles at 730am because I couldn’t sleep anymore. Took a salt bath with the plan and intention of getting my butt kicked in Juan’s Tower class at noon. While running, which I still do on Kangoo Jump shoes, I ruminated about the fact that all my old, original remedies of my yesteryear have returned to full use in the past year. It’s really a “back to beginning & basics” regimen.
I mean really?
- I bought a dehydrator to make my own snacks and herb spices. Who else does this? Juicing.
- Why has something so awful looking as green thick juice become so wonderfully filling to me? Why am I being a cheerleader to so many other’s about it’s energy benefits? Why is it my students hate to see me drink the juice before their class or session, because they know I am going “rock their world” with energy as a result!?
- Sea salt baths to ease dry skin and inflammation. Coconut oil and pink salt for exfoliation and the replenishing lost fluids with green tea brewed weekly so much so that there is nothing else in my freezer for juice, green tea and frozen strawberries and blueberries for my VitaMix red juice bonanza.
- I’ve got glass canning jars filled with either fruit, salts or oils. Diffusing my own essential oil creations in the apartment and the studio. Are you hip to earthy, grounded scent of Winter Gardenia or Moroccan Fig? Go figure!
- I have three tablets, three smartphones (so smart that two of them are basically obsolete and being used as music devices) two Macs, three websites (and management of four others) and I am knitting again!@!@
Like I said, its back to the beginning in many practices to keep body, mind and spirit whole, centered and, let’s face it, I think I am trying to delay or deter the aging process. The “back to the beginning” repertoire I’ve noticed myself in the middle of has made me realize I have been doing this stuff for a really long time and while the benefits feel good the fact that the process is needed really sucks. #justsayin’Another retro snapshot look at what’s happened during the year in the Pilates4Fitness Movement Space and taking a page from Chris Rock’s “Top Five” movie, here’s a few of the basic moves we loved in the studio this year. We have a ball everyday making exercise feel fun, free and enjoyable.Green juice and all.
