Stretching, toning, strengthening and lengthening for health and stress relief/reduction. Basically, this is what I needed and used to get through 2020, and what I expect to be needed by all of us moving ahead into the surprises that await us in 2021.
It is not new work. Although it may be presented in a new and different way. We will make use of the ongoing adjustments of life under Covid-19. All of what we do will focus on using the tried and tested principles of Pilates, for centered breath, control and focus are what is needed in the time of stress and chaos.
It’s all just movement. The practice of movement, as a therapy, with Pilates at the center of each and every movement.
Movement Therapy Workout Options
The first two practice areas, Classical Pilates Mat and Apparatus work, are being used by most students/clients of Pilates4Fitness; and has been for years. It is how we all emerged together, stronger and more lifted at the end of 2020.
It is the last two areas, Resistance with Tools and Release and Relief Movements, that I am introducing with focused attention for 2021, with the plan of building virtual ongoing programs to deliver this work, in response to the changes in our lives brought on by the pandemic. New tools may be recommended to support our personal practice in these two areas.
Stay tuned in and stay connected. We need each other to stay strong. Our community needs our collective efforts to weather the storm.
