Pilates apparatus training uses spring and wheels for resistance. In all of our movements, the body is trained to work the deep core in opposition by a pull, push, press and resist against the tools being used. That is the key to all movement training.
Whether we do so with the Classic Reformer, Tower, Wunda Chair or Contemporary tools like the Orbit or TRX; all the work comes from the fired up muscles at the center of our bodies. That powerhouse core.
Since Covid-19 has changed so many of our fitness options and choices, I wanted to find a way to integrate the much needed cardio into my work and know that a select set of students may also appreciate this option for themselves as well. Utilizing the same pull, push, press and resist core movements against another set of Springs and Wheels.
Cardio Resistance
As a skier or skater, one may recognize the lateral movement of the AeroSki above, providing a good solid challenge for the body with or without the poles for balance.
I am loving the thought of getting through the winter without adding a few extra pounds in my seat.
Toning & Strength
This particular day, I simply worked with the Orbit and the AeroSki, yet, private session work could easily utilize any of the Pilates apparatus to align, lengthen, tone and strengthen your body.
If you are interested in giving it a try in your next Private Session, let me know!
