Strength with Pilates Mat

Every year in March, the global Pilates community comes together to celebrate the original mat exercises created by Joseph Pilates, as published in “Return to Life Through Contrology”.

March Matness was created by instructor Benjamin Degenhardt in 2012. He admits he started it as a way to build his social media profile; it has grown to become a celebration and connection of Pilates enthusiasts through the original teachings of Joe Pilates. Pilates4Fitness students have participated several times over the years and #MarchMatness2026 was the first time I compiled images of the practice work for the month and built a downloadable file of the full Pilates Mat repertoire. The intention is to help facilitate a way to keep us moving wherever and whenever we may choose.

Simple as that! The work remains the same, we just get stronger every time we do it. I am proud of our dedication to the work, our health, strength and improvements along the way.
