Grateful beyond words, Brett, to have your “blessing” on my #BabyArmChair.
From top to bottom, we pulled off a Five Star Monday 😘

Five-Star Monday
As I said in my instagram post, I feel so honored as a student and teacher of Classical Pilates, to have a such a long-standing friendship and relationship with Brett and Tetsuo, @PilateshausJC.

I consider it a privilege to spend an hour with him, one-one, 2X monthly for more than 15 years. My sessions with him are always precise, specific, almost therapeutic in the movements through the Classical system repertoire.
Whenever we work together in his studio, I generally choose the piece of apparatus to use, depending on my body’s needs, energy and mindset for the day. That’s the beauty and “therapeutic aspect” of the work in the Pilates system. Especially with a Classical Pilates Teacher, such as Brett.

For example, I lean towards
- Barrels, Pedo-Pull, Tower/Cadillac for “soft days” when I need length, stretch and joint opening.
- Reformer and/or Wunda Chair are for “work days” when I have full energy, all cylinders working and I want a “kick-ass” workout, we lean into the advanced work on this apparatus.
The Guillotine and Baby Arm Chair were new to me; since I did not own them, their respective repertoire was not part of my regular practice. I loved working with both pieces in his studio, and particularly so when we chose to combine the Wunda and Baby Arm Chair in session work. That, of course, was on one of those “kick-ass” workout days.
So, when told him I was hesitant to buy the Baby Arm Chair because I didn’t know the repertoire, he didn’t hesitate by saying,
“Gina, if you buy the chair, I will come to you and teach you.”
Done! We nailed a date and shared a magnificent whole day together; including relaxing poolside in the sun followed by Thai food lunch at one of my local favorites.
